04 Data Engineer (Remote)
Overview:
The Data Engineering team at Protenus is seeking a new Software Engineer. This role offers an incredible engineering challenge: integrate a variety of electronic health record data into our system while continuously improving the core Protenus platform. As the foundation of our AI and visualization products, innovations by this team directly impact the extensibility of our platform, the capabilities of our compliance analytic products, and success in our mission.
The role relies heavily on analytical thinking and data analysis skills. You will work closely with the raw data flows and coordinate with our data scientists and frontend engineers. Applicants should already have a strong foundation in Java, and some experience with Python. A new hire in this role is expected to learn Scala, the preferred data engineering programming language at Protenus.
Our aim is to enable scientists, engineers, and technologists who are starting their careers to build their technical skills while contributing to the company’s short and long-term success. We focus on capitalizing on their strengths and developing their potential.
Responsibilities:
- Makes regular code contributions as part of a 5-7 person engineering team focused on translating incoming health data flows to Protenus data models, to enable new AI signals and new user experiences.
- Participate and contribute to agile software development sprint ceremonies for the team.
- Develop and maintain expertise in Scala, Python, Spark, MongoDB, relational databases, and AWS services with the mentorship of senior engineers.
- Develop and maintain expertise in our development and automation tools: VSCode/IntelliJ, Jenkins, git, sbt, etc.
- Brings ideas and fresh perspectives from their educational and other relevant experiences.
- Dedication to challenge themselves and maintain a positive attitude.
Key Qualifications, Skills, Competencies:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline. Or, comparable experience that proves mastery of the fundamentals.
- Demonstrates strong data analysis, analytical thinking, and communication. Able to interpret raw data files, document and explain complex relationships within the data.
- 3-5+ years of experience with the following technologies (academic OK):
- Scala (or Java or another JVM language)

- SQL

- Basic data serialization formats: CSV, JSON, XML
- Professional communication skills (written and verbal) that demonstrate an ability to work well with team members, customers and partners alike.

05 Product Marketing Specialist (Remote)

We are seeking a detail oriented, self-starter Product Marketing Specialist to join our talented, high-performing marketing team. As the Product Marketing Specialist, you will be a trusted thought partner working closely on jointly defining the outbound product strategy and go-to-market for Protenus. This position reports to the CMO and is responsible for working closely with Sales, Product, Professional Services and other business functions to make sure we’re positioning our products in the healthcare market for competitive advantage. Responsibilities:
- Lead product launch and go-to-market activities within the company’s target market, identifying marketing campaigns and sales strategies and tactics to grow Protenus business. (Coordinates with Product, Sales and CX)
- Work closely with Product Management, Sales, CX and the broader Marketing team.
- Create clear, differentiated messaging and collateral for products, solutions and packages for the purpose of brand awareness, pipeline growth and revenue generation.
- Create content for use in short videos, blog posts, email and social media that highlight product features and alignment with industry drivers.
- Gain a clear understanding of the target accounts in the healthcare / hospital target markets, competing products and industry challenges, as well as the personas involved and how to speak to them with a level of expertise and relevance that create engagement.
- Identify the trending topics within the healthcare patient privacy, drug diversion, healthcare analytics AI industry and position Protenus as relevant, demonstrating our insights and expertise.
- Develop content on trending topics for sales enablement and use in sales communications
- Assist the BDRs and Sales VPs by providing expertise in specific sales situations, whether it be the creation of discovery questions, value assessments, playbooks or objection handling.
- Working with Chief Marketing Officer, conduct market research and analysis to improve Protenus understanding of the market, competitors, and key trends.
- Develop collateral pieces including one-sheets, white papers, infographics, videos, case studies, use cases and presentations that enable pipeline growth.
- Support Sales on RFP coordination, responses and packaging to ensure accuracy of content and brand
- Support pipeline growth strategies, both through direct and partner channels.
- Support content needs specific to PANDAS user events (working with Product to prepare presentations)
Requirements:
- 3+ years of marketing experience, ideally from a SaaS or healthcare technology company scaling to a global enterprise.
- The ideal candidate has worked in the healthcare or medical AI industry and is well versed in the industry.
- Experience in positioning B2B products and solutions for a growth market, appealing to technical users.
- Experience with SAFe Agile processes desired but not required.
- Experience with Challenger Sales model desired but not required.
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint and Google Slides, as well as Salesforce and Hubspot.
- Prior success in working with and communicating at all levels of the organization.
- Experience in different mediums to explain Protenus positioning and value (long form content, visualizations, videos, etc.)
